Who is Camilla Jaller?

Since August 2019, Camilla is conducting an industrial PhD under the title “Sculpting in Time and Space”. The project is a collaboration with XR production company MAKROPOL, Aalborg University Copenhagen, and the Danish Film School. It is supported by Innovation Fund Denmark and Nordisk Film Fonden.

Camilla furthermore holds a B.A. in Comparative Literature from University of Copenhagen from 2015 and a Master of Arts in Visual Culture also from University of Copenhagen, 2017. She has lived and studied in Berlin at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and her primary area of research is focused on urban digital art, new media, and digital visual culture.  She is currently focusing on the intersection of technology and human perception within visual digital expressions including XR, VR, AR, and MR.

Camilla is a keen writer and frequent speaker at conferences including Post Screen: Intermittence+Interference in Lisbon and RIXC Art and Science Festival in Riga.

Camilla has worked on a number of award-winning digital productions as a digital producer. She is driven towards productions that exist at the intersection of art and technology thus creating intuitive, interactive, and immersive ways of telling stories.  She values the challenge of translating between artistic and tech focused affordances and believes that the strength lies in combining different approaches and competencies across disciplines. Her favourite part of the production process is the shared creative act of idea development. And of course celebrating together after an intense crunch period!

Camilla is a dedicated long distance runner with multiple half marathons and two full marathons in the books. She dreams of becoming a Boston Marathon qualifier and to complete all six World Marathon Majors. She also wants to learn how to knit socks and read all volumes of In Search of Lost Time.
